Quickstart

From creating a brand to your first diagnosis results.

On this page

This page takes you from a new brand to your first diagnosis results. Everything happens in the New brand diagnosis wizard, which has four steps: Add website or materials, Confirm brand, Choose topics, and Choose models.

Before you start

It helps to have:

  • Your brand website or a product page URL. Without a website, prepare brand or product documents with selectable text.
  • Competitors you especially want to compare against (optional; PeakGEO also researches candidates).
  • The target market for this diagnosis.

Step 1: Add website or materials

On the brands page, click New brand to open the New brand diagnosis wizard.

  1. Choose a Target market. The brand name, category, competitors and diagnosis questions all use this market's language.
  2. Under Choose an information source, pick one:
    • Website link: paste a brand website or product page URL (it must begin with http:// or https://).
    • Upload materials: add up to 10 brand or product files. UTF-8 TXT, Markdown, CSV and JSON are supported, along with PDF and DOCX; up to 25 MiB per file and 50 MiB in total.
  3. Click Next. PeakGEO reads the website, searches public sources and composes the brand profile.

Only the selected source is analyzed. An explicit product page or product material is diagnosed at the product level, with brand materials used as background.

If the website returns a verification page, blocks automated access, or no traceable source can be found, PeakGEO does not guess. It asks you to fill in the brand name, industry and category yourself before continuing.

Step 2: Confirm brand

Review what was identified:

  • Brand basics: brand name, industry, category, and core product / service. If the materials mention several conflicting products, replace the value with the single product you want to diagnose.
  • Positioning and overview: positioning and brand summary.
  • Buyer personas: pick a preset (such as first-time buyers, price-conscious buyers or professional users) or use Add persona to write your own. Questions are written only from the persona you select; if you select none, PeakGEO does not guess who the user is.
  • Competitors: PeakGEO researches candidate competitors and shows the sources behind each one. Select them, use Add competitor to add your own, or Retry competitor research. Only competitors you confirm enter the formal comparison.

Click Next to have PeakGEO derive the diagnosis topics.

Step 3: Choose topics

Under Diagnosis topics, select and refine the topics for this diagnosis. You can Add theme or remove topics you don't need. We recommend keeping at least 4 topics for broader coverage.

User questions are generated in the background, topic by topic, and each one is checked automatically. Finished topics appear while the rest are still generating, and editing unlocks once all are done. If question generation fails for a topic, retry it; your confirmed brand details and topics are not overwritten.

If the question set is missing organic discovery or organic recommendation questions, the wizard flags this as a limited-scope diagnosis. You can go back and add the missing questions, or run with the current scope and the result will be marked as partially complete.

See Question sets and measurement types for how the question set is built.

Step 4: Choose models

Under Choose your AI platforms, select the models to question in this diagnosis; you can pick several. Click Confirm to create the brand and start the initial diagnosis.

The list shows only enabled platforms your account can access. Defaults favor domestic or global platforms based on the target market, and you can change the selection. Platforms that have not been enabled are not shown as available. See Model coverage and availability.

Follow the progress

When creation finishes, you land on the brand's Overview. While the run is in progress, the page explains that it is still asking the AI platforms and hides the mention and recommendation rates for now. Expand Run progress details to see the effective and failed sample counts and the status of each step. If some answers failed, you can Run initial diagnosis again.

The page refreshes automatically when the run finishes.

Read your first results

We suggest this order:

  1. Overview: check the sample scope first (how many questions, AI platforms and valid answers), then the organic mention rate, organic recommendation rate, risk mention rate and Key findings. Use View details on any finding to trace it back to its questions and original answers.
  2. Next step: the bottom of the overview lists the open actions; click View all actions to go to Actions.
  3. Tracking: compare each question's answers across models to see which questions earn recommendations and where competitors win instead.
  4. Visibility, Competitors, Sources, Evidence: metrics and trends, competitor performance, the sources answers cite, and evidence gaps.
  5. Report: read the report online or download it to share internally or with clients.

See Metric definitions for how the numbers are calculated and Action recommendations for how actions move forward.

What to do next

  • Add materials: in Brand profile, open Reference materials and use Add brand materials to upload product guides or brand introductions for future drafts.
  • Maintain the question set: in Prompts, edit questions, accept demand candidates and set the Core retest set.
  • Retest and monitor: after completing actions, start a retest or schedule monitoring in Monitoring & retests. See Monitoring, retests and alerts.
  • Content: create a New topic from an action to produce a sourced draft and run it through the fact check. See Content loop.
